About the Founder
This scholarship fund was founded by Rollin Geppert in October 2010. Rollie is a strong believer in education and has organized the Ecosystems Scholarship Fund in memory of all young people who once attended one-room schoolhouses, many of whom (like Rollie) went on to earn advanced degrees and make significant contributions to our nation and its people. He earned a Master of Science in forest tree physiology and plant ecology and spent his career working in natural resources research and management in MN, AZ, CA, OR and WA. When he retired in 2007 he asked himself, "Where will my replacement come from? What can I do to help?" Through this scholarship fund Rollie has found a way to help answer these questions.
In addition to receiving donations, Rollie is using the proceeds from the sale of his stock photo collection (300,000 images) to fund these scholarships. See: www.geppertphotography.com for details on how to obtain the publishing rights to his photos and fine art prints.
